Dr. Sherry Johnson is joining Dr. Madhu Prasad at Far North General Surgery & Surgical Oncology specializing in General Surgery and Breast Surgery Oncology. She is returning to her hometown, Anchorage, to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to the community that raised her.
Dr. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina in 2007. She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Washington in 2013.

Dr. Johnson is board certified in General Surgery and completed a Society of Surgical Oncology accredited Breast Surgery Oncology Fellowship at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2019. This fellowship trained her in a multidisciplinary model that closely worked with all aspects of breast health and cancer including benign breast care, high risk assessment, medical oncology, radiation oncology, genetics, pathology, breast imaging, oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery.
She is a member of numerous professional organizations including American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Johnson strives to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to her general surgery and breast cancer patients. She is excited about her return back to Anchorage to family, friends and her favorite hobby, hiking!
